We’ve got something exciting to share with you guys, and we’re pretty sure you’re going to love it as much as we do.
As you probably already know, one of our favourite things about the coffee industry is the community, and all the other legends in it doing amazing things.
Since starting out as a single coffee shop and going on to build our own roasters, we’ve seen first hand the different ways our industry helps to foster friendships and social connections.
No matter your favourite bean, blend or brew, we’re all brought together by one common interest - a shared love of proper coffee.
When we first set out on this journey, we had one clear goal in mind. To roast the coffees we love to drink, for the people that we love to drink them with.
Along the way, we've learnt so much from passionate individuals who have helped us get to where we are today - for that we'll always be grateful.
There's no doubt collective knowledge sharing offers heap loads of benefits, and we've always loved the idea of working alongside other coffee wizards from like minded businesses to push ourselves even further.
So with this in mind, we're stoked to introduce our Blend Friends Series.
More about Blend Friends
The series will see us collaborate with other coffee roasters to bring you beaut new blends.
The best of both worlds, each collaborative roast will feature our own speciality beans alongside the beans from the company we're working with at the time.
Teaming up with brands that align with our own ethos, Blend Friends will enable us to experiment freely and create unique flavour profiles you're unlikely to have come across before.
We've seen this kinda thing work well for UK breweries, which is why we're so excited to bring the concept into the coffee world.
Blend Friends 001 - Launching 23/09
The first blend in our series is launching tomorrow.
Call it a Pilot if you will, the only difference being that there's no risk of our series being discontinued any time soon.
Brought to you in collaboration with our friends over at Full Court Press - OKC X FCP is a mash-up of our Brazilian Rancho Dantas, and FCP's East Timor Astabe.
These single-origin beans complement each other in the best way - combining key flavour profiles of each variety to produce complex tastes you'll want to savour.
The result? A well-balanced brew with notes of redcurrant, strawberry, jasmine and caramel - best enjoyed on filter.
Keep your eyes peeled as we'll be adding these beans to our speciality coffee collection in just 24 hours!
FCP Coffee:
Also based in Bristol, Full Court Press is a speciality coffee shop and roasters that have been doing their thing since 2013.
Just like us, the team at FCP are passionate about providing customers with transparency when it comes to the journey from bean to cup.
As well as using a fully renewable electricity supplier for their roaster (drastically lowering their carbon footprint), they also purchase the majority of their coffee from Raw Material - a social enterprise that reinvests 100% of their profits into coffee and community-level investments in Colombia, Burundi, Rwanda, Timor-Leste and Mexico.
What's next?
We'll leave you sipping on Blend Friends 001 for now, but rest assured we have more exciting collab blends in the pipeline.
