Barista course breakdown:
Our coffee barista courses begin with a session on the theory of coffee, where you'll learn background knowledge as you enjoy tasting a range of our current roasts.
After coffee theory, you'll be trained by one of our baristas in the science of milk texturing and espresso. Discover how to steam your milk to the perfect texture, and gain skills that can be transferred to any home machine.
During the course, we'll demonstrate how to dial in a grinder, talking through each component of making espresso - from dosing to yield and extraction.
You'll also learn how to taste-test your espresso for an enhanced sipping experience, and learn how to fix coffee equipment issues with tips that are easy to replicate at home.
Last but not least, latte art. By the end of the course you'll be able to make yourself a beautifully tasting latte with perfect milk topped by a pretty heart!
'Be A Barista' Course Locations:
We offer barista courses in two locations, Bristol and Birmingham.
If you aren’t familiar with our story, here’s a little info about who we are and what we do.
Wayland’s Yard was our first baby, a single coffee shop based in Worcester.
Since setting up WY in 2016, we’ve expanded to Bristol and Birmingham and built our very own roastery - Odd Kin Coffee Roasters.
Our teams across Wayland’s and Odd Kin are the legends we truly owe our success to.
Passionate about sharing their knowledge and providing the best experience possible, our sites are places where customers can explore speciality coffee and learn more about the story behind the bean.
Whether you choose Bristol or Birmingham for your coffee training course, we guarantee a great time with good company, good vibes and good coffee - what more could you ask for!?
