We get our coffee beans from here almost exclusively and they are always great quality. I really love that we have the option to bring reusable containers to transport the beans home too.

Popped in for some coffee for my espresso machine as my grinder had packed up. Great service and AMAZING tasting Indigo mountain Myanmar ground perfectly for espresso. Will be back for sure for my coffee beans in the future.

Fantastic tasting coffee beans. Have tried their Colombian Aguas Claras, as well as the Brazilian and their special Christmas blend. Great service, delivered quickly and at a good price.

Great little insight into both the coffee process and how to get the best out of the beans with a variety of filter methods, great independent roastery 👍

Amazing coffee and fantastic staff. Always had incredible service, love the little personal touch with every order!

About this coffee

“Musaza” means elder in Kinyarwanda, Rwanda’s national language- a nod to wisdom, respect, and tradition.

This lot was processed at Rwamatamu’s Mbare washing station in Muhanga, in Rwanda’s Southern Province. After harvest, the cherries are carefully laid out on raised beds to dry in the sun and are carefully hand-sorted. Over the following 26-33 days, they’re turned regularly and sorted again, allowing the natural sugars and fruit flavours to gradually seep into the beans and develop depth and complexity in the cup.

A clean, juicy cup reminiscent of blackberry jellies and parma violet sweets, balanced by the acidity of deep red cherries. A moreish coffee that has layers of complexity across every brew method.

Roast Profile

OMNI

Producer

Rwamatamu is a family-run coffee producer founded in 2015 by husband-and-wife team Rutaganda Gaston and Mukantwaza Laeticia.

Community sits at the heart of what they do, with close relationships between the team and farmers in Nyamasheke and Mbare. They also run local initiatives in both areas. In Nyamasheke, a Women’s Cooperative sees Rwamatamu provide land, seedlings and training so women can grow coffee and sell it back to the station- creating steady income beyond seasonal work and supporting long-term stability.

In Mbare, they run a similar project for 18–35 year-olds through a Youth Association, helping younger generations build skills and interest in coffee farming.
